Self confidence can be a little bit of a touchy subject. Everyone has their own insecurities and struggles they deal with on a daily basis, even getting up in the morning just seems like a burden to themselves. This doesn’t sound right, right?
Life should be about you, since it is YOUR life. You want to wake up in the morning and be excited to be yourself, see what life has in store for you and the great things that you are going to accomplish.
So how do you gain more self confidence?
These tips will surely point you in the right direction.
The first thing you do to start your day is wake up. That’s pretty obvious, but the actions and steps you take when you wake up can drastically change your life for the better. If you are a person who likes to go on their phone when they wake up (as am I), don’t head straight to instagram, facebook or twitter, try going straight to pinterest and search for “positive morning affirmations”.

Now under this search there are endless affirmations you can repeat to yourself to start your day in the right direction. Another idea is to hop out of bed, look in the mirror and tell yourself positive things and what you love about yourself and the great things you are going to accomplish that day.
I know you might be thinking…
“I look horrible right when I wake up!” FALSE, you only think that because you’re telling yourself that. When talking yourself down, you feel down. When telling yourself you’re amazing, beautiful, and can do anything you want in life you will feel that positivity and will only build you up.
Social media is a large space for judgement, and most of the time you are judging and comparing yourself to other people. That is the worst thing you can do when you want to boost your self confidence.
First things first
When it comes to social media is to NEVER say “I wish”, what I mean by this is never say “I wish I looked like so and so” or “I wish I had a small waist like her” comparison is a word that will get you nowhere in life. I suggest following people on social media who inspire and motivate you, instead of ultimately bringing you down.
You were put on this earth for a reason and that is to be yourself and to rock your own personality and looks. Why would you want to be like everyone else? Part of building your own self confidence is being able to compliment people and celebrate their successes instead of showing jealousy.
Gratitude
Something that should be a part of your everyday life is expressing gratitude. Being grateful for what you have is so important because it makes you appreciate the things you have in life and you’ll find yourself not asking more or being greedy.
I am grateful for this sunset.

Always remember there are people out there that would kill to be in the position you are in now. Ways to add this more into your routine is to say the things you are grateful for throughout the day, or writing it in a dedicated gratitude journal. When you actually realize the great things you have in life you will start to feel more humble, grounded, and true to yourself. Building self confidence starts deep within you!
This next tip is 1000% one you have heard before, but is so crucial to building your self esteem and that is eating wholesome foods that make you look and feel good. Eating healthy is a major struggle that people have in life. To be honest it takes TIME.
Don’t be POOP
It took me months to stick to healthy eating habits or trying to control binge eating at times. Over time you kind of just get sick and tired of feeling like poop. No one wants to feel like poop unless you are poop, poop is the only thing that can actually be poop so don’t try and be like poop.
Eating less processed foods has really helped me with sticking to eating clean, guess what? You CAN make delicious meals that are healthy and will keep you full for hours. Personally I try to stick to three fresh, wholesome meals a day and keep that snacking to a minimum.
I’m not Perfect
Now I’m not perfect and neither are you so if you indulge in some cookie dough, ice cream or whatever your favorite treat is, NEVER get down on yourself because it is all a learning process. I never feel guilty about my treats because I eat my three healthy main meals a day. Once you start eating better food, you will shed some unhealthy pounds and feel better on the inside. Always love your body no matter the shape and size. You can still be healthy no matter what size, remember that.
An important factor to live at all the times is DO NOT CARE WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK OF YOU.
How many times have you heard that before? A billion. How many times have you actually lived by that saying? Probably three or four times.
Tough Pill to Swallow
This pill is a little harder for people to swallow because at the end of the day you want to impress someone in your life or try and live up to their expectations.
A fact that I 1000% know about you even if I have never met you is that you are the main character in your life. You can still be such a kind loving soul and still not give a F about what people think of you or how your presence affects them.

If people are mean to you for no reason at all it’s because of problems and insecurities in their life. Instead of you being mean back show kindness and compassion because in the end they have their own problems they are struggling with and you could help them. If this negative mean person isn’t someone you run into one or two times, I would say it’s time to cut them out of your life. If people or your “friends” don’t like who you are, it’s time to cut them off because they’re bringing you bad energy that you definitely don’t need and will only set back working on yourself and growing your self confidence.
Look Good, Feel Good
We all know that one, well guess what it’s true! Self care is a crucial part to your everyday life.
Now this can vary from a lot of different things such as being a better person, eating healthier, getting dressed up for the day.. The list goes on as there are little steps that go into self care as a whole. This daily self care leads to daily self confidence.
Taking small steps each day to better your self care is already a step in the right direction. For example you could do one step of self care from separate categories such as taking a shower, eating at least one nutritious meal, or reading a book or watching a video or show that makes you happy. Once you start making self care a priority in your life, it will only motivate you more to accomplish even greater things that you’ve always wanted to do.
Starting small is Key
If you even do the slightest thing that benefits your self care and mental health you deserve to reward yourself and remind yourself that you are doing a great job. You are your number one supporter so start acting like it!
Some of these tips may sound a little scary to try, the ultimate secret tip to building self confidence is to put yourself out there and take risks. You will never ever know if you like something or hate it because you have never tried.
Get out of your comfort zone
By trying out new things will only give you a boost because you are learning and growing. Never be afraid to fail because it is the most common thing people do in life.

Everyone experiences a lot of the same things, what makes you different is how to react to the situation and how you choose to grow from it. Building self confidence takes time. The most exquisite attractions around the world were not built overnight, and neither will you. Remember to always put yourself first and share the amazing person you are, you are worth it.
LOVE YOURSELF! -K
