Some people are a little skeptical when it comes to green juice, I don’t blame them though, the look and smell can be a little deceiving.
Beside the weird green shade and pungent smell, green juice is delicious and has many benefits that come along with it.
There are other factors that go into green juice and personally I think it’s a piece of artwork really. The nutrients green juice provides, it’s energy boosts it gives you anytime of the day, different preferences, the way the juice is made, and the taste.
When looking at the variety of juices on the shelf in the grocery store, you’ll tend to notice the more colorful fruit juices are taken off the shelf first. All fresh pressed juice is quite delicious, but one factor you have to look out for is the amount of sugar in these juices. Personally I like the green juices with the least amount of sugar, being 5 grams. Other fruit cold pressed juices can contain A LOT of sugar. Some juices have as much as 24 grams of sugar, which is 1 gram below the daily average sugar intake for women. Of course don’t restrict them from your diet, but be careful on how often you get these sugary delicious ones. With fresh pressed juice the sugar comes from a natural source, so that makes it better as well.
Watch out for Sugar

Benefits of Green Juice
Green juice is loaded with vitamins and minerals to get your system flowing right and you feelin’ good. A lot of green juices start with a base vegetable such as celery, cucumber, kale ect. The dark leafy greens are rich in Vitamin A, C, and K, fiber, antioxidants, calcium and potassium are just to name a few. Vegetables are also important because they reduce inflammation, create better bacteria in the gut, and you can even shed a few pounds of toxins in your body.
Good Energy Boost when You Hit your Midday Slump

There is always some point in the day when you start to get tired and you feel like you need a nap. Well guess what, not everyone has time for a nap. Instead of a soda or another coffee that I don’t need that late in the day, I drink green juice!
Not only does green juice give you energy from it’s amazing health properties, but it is also very refreshing. It makes you feel even better that you know you are putting something in your body that will provide value to your organs and a longer lasting form of energy for the midday slump. Another coffee will mostly only last for a short period of time before fully crashing and being out of energy.
Different Preferences

Green juice sounds simple right? Well it kinda is.. Just kidding juicing takes a lot more vegetables and fruits than one would think. Also having organic fruits and vegetables is preferred so you are not ultimately drinking chemicals and pesticides.
There are two main ways to juice, cold pressed and centrifugal. Cold pressed juice is made by a hydraulic press and uses its many, heavy pounds to compress the juice out of the fruit or vegetable. A lot of people like this method because there is no heat applied or generated from this method. When there is heat involved it can strip away some of the nutrients from that fruit or veggie.
Centrifugal juicing uses fast moving metal parts that crush and squash all the juice out of the fruit or vegetable, but the problem with this method is that the fast metal blades produce heat, therefore some nutrients of the juice are lost.
Cold pressed juicers typically cost more as well.
Store Bought vs Homemade
The nice thing about buying juice from the store is that it’s already made and in your hand. I would definitely suggest store bought if you are always in a rush or on the go. Making it at home is also good because you can customize your juice to the liking of your choice, make as much or as little as you want, and it’s right there in your fridge.
Taste
Sometimes green juice tastes like poop. I won’t lie, but that is when I mainly throw a bunch of random fruits and veggies together. One of my go to green juices is the Evolution Fresh Green Devotion. If I am making it at home I will put together celery, cucumber, kale, and lemon. Green juice is different for everyone, some people can only drink it if there is a sweet fruit in it like an apple. The pungent green taste is really what fuels me and makes me feel good overall!

Point Blank
I cannot tell you what you like in life, but hopefully these reasons could inform you more about green juice and why you should try it. I drink almost everyday, it puts me in a better mood! If you want to try green juice, go to a Whole Foods or any store and see their juice options. Evolution Fresh and Suja are big juice brands. If you find one you really like and start to drink it more often that’s when I would invest in a juicer and start making cool and delicious juice recipes you like!
