
During this time of year there is a day where you step outside, the sun is shining on your skin, and the energy feels different. In a good way of course, you start to see more color in the world and feel the energy of spring in the air!
This is so exciting if you experience the winter blues because it seems as a sign of relief and you just feel more of a sense of happiness. During the transition into spring there are some things you can do to really refresh your mind and space. Here are some ways you can hit the reset button and feel your best this spring season.
Life clean out
The best way to start the new season is to get rid of the old that’s no longer serving you to make room for some new! Or just to de-clutter. The best area is to start with your room, deep clean it and get rid of the winter dust still lingering. Also doing a closet clean out will really help you feel good. Old clothes that don’t fit or that you don’t like anymore and bringing them to donate is always good. The less junk, the less you’ll be overwhelmed and feel just more at ease. Always try to simplify!
You could also clear out past relationships or habits that no longer serve you. If someone is draining your energy in a negative way, maybe distance yourself and see how you feel. If you want to start eating a little cleaner to get ready for the summer season maybe try cutting out excess sugar. There are many small steps you can take to feel better and fresh.
Buy a journal!
To keep yourself grounded, invest in a journal to let out your thoughts and to write down your gratitude. A lot of the times when we feel in a rut or lost with our goals we need to take the time to appreciate more that’s around us and what we have. We often think about what we want or don’t have, journaling can keep you centered.
Buy yourself flowers or a plant
Who said someone else always has to buy you flowers? NO ONE! Go buy yourself a cute little bunch that brings you joy or even bring a new plant in. It’s the little things that matter and seeing just a pop of color and brightness can add some cheer to your day. If you don’t want to spend money on flowers all the time, invest in some cute fake ones. They will obviously last and can still bring that brightness into your life.
Write a letter of forgiveness and then burn it
If you have ever been wronged or hurt by someone it can really affect your everyday life and how it hinders you mentally. Even if the person did someone totally messed up, the only way to set yourself free is to forgive. This doesn’t mean you have to talk to the person or tell them you forgive them. It is for you and you only. It gives you your power back knowing you can forgive the person and that you don’t have to be in contact with them ever again if you don’t want to. Write that letter and burn it. It will help you feel so much better and you can start to focus on yourself and your healing. Put yourself first and you will feel significantly better!
Prioritize mental and physical health
Let’s be honest, before summer everyone wants to “glow up” but the real glow up is from within. This starts by treating your mind and body better. Getting 30 minutes of exercise daily will help you physically and clear your mind. Now that the weather is getting warmer it’s the perfect time to go on hot girl walks and jam to music or listen to your favorite podcast. Starting to say no to certain things and setting boundaries with the people around you will help you mentally.
The only way to feel your best is to show up for yourself. These are just some ideas you do not have to do all of them at once. Start small and create daily habits.
